Hazards of alcohol

Alcohol is very bad and there are many things that can go wrong. Alcohol is one of the main causes of death, like drinking and driving.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated there were 75,766 alcoholic deaths in 2001. In addition to its role in about 39 percent of all motor vehicle fatalties in 2005, alcohol abuse also contributes to injuries and deaths from falls, drowning, fires, and violence.

How can we decrease the alcoholic deaths?

I understood all words.

What is your opinion on the drinking problem in the US.

  • List two to four specific details that support the central idea IN YOUR OWN WORDSThe admissions process is based on the submission of the written applications. Many colleges offer online applications.
  • Create an opportunity for further research by writing down two questions the text raises about the central idea (explicitly or implicitly). Explicit means stated clearly and in detail, leaving no room for confusion or doubt, while implicit means implied though not plainly expressed. Would colleges ever think about sending less emails online? How many emails do they send a day?

I am reading about the how the early alcohol consumption puts youth at risk.

The articles discusses how drinking at a young illegal age is not good for you and can ruin your health.

The minimum legal drinking age is 21. Many young people obtain alcoholic beverages in the United States.

Did they ever change the legal age? Why is the age 21?

psychosocial- of or relating to the interrelation of social factors and individual thought and behavior

What is your opinion on the legal age of 21?

Sports & Athletes

This article discusses the unfair advantage that a disabled runner has in the olympics. He has prosthetic legs, that are built to run faster with springs and can keep getting improved over time.

Two details
- The runner has an advantage that no other one has, because his legs are able to be upgraded and get better without any hard work.
- the legs he has are made of springs and metals

Two questions
- How did they address the runner after his performance?
- Did they change the rules, because of him?

I dont understand prosthetic.

I do not understand the meaning of the word.

Prosthetic - denoting an artificial body part, such as a limb, a heart, or a breast implant.

Do you feel it is fair for the other runners?

What I consider interesting.

The subject I most enjoy reading about is Gym because it helps me in everyday life to learn more for when I work out at the gym and/or play basketball.

My favorite hobby is basketball, because I love to play the game and I play it nearly everyday of my life and my life wouldn't be the same without it.

If I won the lottery, I would use the money to get my dream house and buy a lot of new clothes.

The type of volunteer activity I prefer is with to help children who are trying to learn new sports. It is easier to teach them when I already have a lot of experience.

My favorite school subject has always Spanish, because I have had a lot of experience with it. It comes pretty easy to me, and it is pretty easy to remember.

If i ran the world, the first thing I would change would be school policies for homework and make it optional 2-3 days of the week.
